Just wanted to share the blessing of today’s snow storm… we were headed out to Dayville for co-op and because of the snow, the car started slipping. After slipping a couple more times, I told the kids it was ok and we would turn around to go home. Sam says…”Oh today wouldn’t be a good day to die” What? Why Sam? “Well, because I’m not saved yet.” So as I am panicking on the car ride home, I tell him that if he knows what it means to be saved, then he better take care of it now. A peek into the back seat and we see Sam bowing his head. I didn’t think anything else about it until later Sam told his Dad that he took care of the business and got saved. We had him explain what he meant and PRAISE THE LORD…there’s a new name written down in glory and it’s SAM’s….AMEN!!! Sam Morrison is a new creature today 1/28/2010!

Sam is 6. January 2010
My sweet, JOYful friend Michelle has a great site on nightly Jesse Tree Devotions. You can click on the link or grab the button on my sidebar that my techie son, Dan made. Click on his link to see the work he has done and maybe give him some business.
Let’s ALL remember the true meaning of CHRISTmas. EnJOY every moment!
With the Christmas season right around the corner, I decided to take a moment to share with my readers a couple of sites that make my shopping more JOYful! I am a bargain hunter. I don’t particularly like clipping coupons, but have seen the benefits of using them over the last few months. My three favorite stores are STAPLES, CVS, and Target. Here are a few places to get some great coupons and sale match-ups.
- My fellow homeschool Mom and Christian frugal friend, Deb at Frugal Living and Having Fun got me started on this couponing and stock piling thing this past summer. It’s been a fun and profitable journey! Check out her website complete with links and giveaways at www.frugallivingandhavingfun.com
- This one is a fellow CT Mom, Michelle at www.wickedcooldeals.com
- Here is Brandy from Warwick, RI (my old home town) www.brandysbigbargains.com
- Get a peek at Sunday’s coupon inserts www.sundaycouponpreview.com
- Print great Target coupons which can be stacked with regular manufacturer coupons www.afullcup.com/target-coupon-generator
Have fun! Let me know about your great deal finds and enJOY every moment! Hugs of JOY JOY JOY!
If you didn’t see my post yesterday, take a moment now to read it so you will be caught up- to-date.
So, I decided to choose JOY yesterday when physically, mentally, and well maybe spiritually I just didn’t feel JOYful. So what happened? Well, what do you think happens when a Christian obeys the LORD? He blesses it–as His word tells us. Some people fall into the “stinky thinking” that you just can’t CHOOSE to be happy. Hogwash!!! I say! Don’t let Satan keep you in a dark depression! Just take 5 minutes to make a list of things to be thankful. Are you breathing? Ok, that’s one. Do you have clothes on? That’s two. Have you eaten in the last day? Ok, there’s three. Keep going! We are far more blessed than most people are.
Now don’t think I am making light of depression. Believe me, I know! I have been there. I have lived there. I have had times in my life when my body and heart ached so much that I couldn’t even read a Bible verse, let alone make sense of it! Sometimes my anxious mind would play over the “what ifs?” so many times I didn’t even know what was real anymore. Depression is real. Depression in itself is NOT sin. However, it can easily become sinful if we wallow there too long.
So yesterday, I got out of bed and chose JOY! Today I am doing the same thing and this is the verse the LORD gave me today.
The King shall joy in Thy strength, O LORD, and in Thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! Psalm 21:1
Isn’t He wonderful? EnJOY every moment of today!
Today is “one of those days”. I am struggling. My body aches, my heart hurts, and I just want to crawl back into bed and stay put. I have perfectly valid reasons. My sleep is restless. I go to bed tired, but I wake up feeling worse…like a truck has driven over me all night long. I’ve had a terrible headache all week long. I’ll be tested later this month for sleep apnea. It runs in my family. The doctor says to lose weight. I’ve been trying to lose weight for several years to no avail. I walk around with a constant headache. And then there is the issue of my heart. November 24th marks ten years that we got THE most devastating news in all our pregnancies. November 24, 1999 was the day we realized our third child was not expected to live. I miss Josiah. I wish we had more pictures of our short time with him. I can’t wait to be reunited with my precious son.
Valid reasons or not, what if I do that? What if I just turn off the world for the day and crawl back into bed? I could slip into a deep depression and would anyone notice? Of course!!! First of all, my LORD would notice. How can He use me if I am curled up in bed? Well, He is God and He would find a way, but what about the divine appointments He has planned for me today? What if there is someone out there in this great, big world that needs to a smiling face or a gospel tract? What if there is someone who is actually in a deep depression out there? Maybe they need to see someone who has the JOY of the Lord. What about my husband? He goes off to work in the morning after praying with me in bed. What if I am still in bed when he comes back home? How have I blessed him this day? I am created to be his helpmeet. Wouldn’t he be disappointed if his helpmeet took the day off to sulk in bed? Of course! What about his precious children that he leaves in my care during the day? Sure, they could fend for themselves with Dan here to help them, but don’t they need their Mama to guide them and teach them? Of course they do!
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Lord, today I need You more than ever. Cleanse me Lord of all my sin. I don’t have any strength of my own today. Lord, I depend on YOU to get me through this day, but not just to survive the day, but to live it with JOY! Lord, You are my strength. You are my source of JOY. Fill my cup today to overflow and spread YOUR joy to another soul today. With Your grace, today I choose JOY! Thank You LORD for loving me, for forgiving me, and for your strength. In Jesus’ name…AMEN!
Choose JOY today!

We are just LOVING our Red Star hens. They have a sweet temperment and faithfully lay their yummy brown eggs. We have been blessed with some SUPER LARGE double yolks too. Since we are getting an average dozen of eggs per day, we have been able to bless folks with eggs and even sold some this past week. God is so good to us! Praise Him for everlasting mercy! EnJOY every moment.

Just praising the LORD for His faithfulness and mercy. Lamentations 21-26 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning great is Thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
EnJOY every moment!

This is a lounge for Homeschool Moms. There are separate groups for specific interests. For example, I belong to the Homeschoolers Love Freebies group, the IFB Sisters group (independant, fundamental Baptist) and the Beauty from Ashes group (infant loss support). I have been so blessed by this lounge. It’s kinda like facebook, but without all the silly applications and a great place to get encouragement and support as we homeschool. EnJOY every moment.
